Where do we start. There’s so much to explore. Climb Mount Cooroora a 439 meter Volcanic plug overlooking the township of Pomona, not for the faint hearted but a stunning view of The Noosa Hinterland. Home of King of the Mountain, an annual race to the top, which may take you a little longer than than the 27 minutes it takes the King. Maybe after the exhilarating climb you’ll be ready for a stop for lunch at one of our favourites Pomona Distilling Co for one of their delicious Gins, cocktail or a beer. Enjoy the atmosphere of the rustic but stylish beer garden hidden behind the historic exterior, charmingly restored using reclaimed materials and serving delicious food with an Asian inspired theme, or if Chicken Parmigiana and Fish and Chips is your thing you won’t be disappointed.

Take a walk through our ancient rain forests along the boardwalk and explore nature at Serenity Falls Buderim. Enjoy the peace, take a dip in the beautiful clear fresh Rockpool or stand under the waterfall for the best way to cool off on a hot day. If you are feeling really energetic then take a 1.3 km walk through the forest to Kondillia falls . Another beautiful spot, accessed by 150 steps down to the Rockpool, well worth the climb to get some stunning pictures.
Enjoy lunch at one of our great Sunshine Coast Craft Breweries Brouhaha in Maleny or any one of the numerous cafes in this interesting hinterland town, or visit Montville with its numerous restaurants, cafes, craft shops and quaint specialty stores.

Another highlight of the hinterland is the breathtaking scenery of The Blackhall range. Take a drive through the stunning countryside, stopping at the view points on the way, to Malaney. Here you can visit the Maleny Botanical Gardens and take a tour through the Birdworld aviary, meeting the very tame residents and grabbing a picture whilst these beautiful colourful birds perch on your shoulder. The view of the Glasshouse Mountains is not to be missed, especially from the viewing platform at The Mary Cairncross scenic reserve. The boardwalk takes you on a short walk through the majestic rainforest and if you are lucky you may see the wild wallabies grazing amongst the trees . Not far away is Malaney cheese, perfect for a short stop for coffee or just to sample the delicious local cheeses .
This area has such a massive array of cafes restaurants and wineries, many with gorgeous hinterland views and quality food and wine. One of our favourites is High tea with a lake or Mountain view then a little visit to The Barrel @ Maleny for a wine flight and a cheese platter
